• What JGIG Is:

Joyfully Growing In Grace engages in an examination of beliefs found in the Hebrew Roots Movement, Messianic Judaism, and Netzarim streams of thought and related sects.

The term “Messianic” is generally understood to describe Jews who have come to believe in Yeshua/Jesus as their Messiah. Jews who are believers in Jesus/Yeshua typically call themselves Jewish/Hebrew Christians or simply, Christians.

Many Christians meet folks who say they are ‘Messianic’ and assume that those folks are Jewish Christians. Most aren’t Jewish at all, but are Gentile Christians who have chosen to pursue Torah observance and have adopted the Messianic term, calling themselves Messianic Christians, adherents to Messianic Judaism, or simply, Messianics. Some will even try to avoid that label and say that they are followers of "The Way".

These Gentiles (and to be fair, some Messianic Jews) preach Torah observance/pursuance for Christians, persuading many believers that the Christianity of the Bible is a false religion and that we must return to the faith of the first century sect of Judaism that they say Yeshua (Jesus Christ) embraced. According to them, once you become aware that you should be 'keeping' the edicts and regulations of Mosaic Covenant Law, if you do not, you are then in willful disobedience to God.

It has been my observation that Christians who adopt the label of Messianic identify more with the tenets of Judaism than they do with the tenets of Christianity. Many reject the label of Christian altogether and some eventually even convert to Judaism.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 says, "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil."

Joyfully Growing in Grace examines the methods, claims, and fruits of the Hebrew Roots Movement, Messianic Judaism, and Netzarim streams of thought and related, law-keeping sects.

To borrow from a Forrest Gump quote, “Law ‘keepers’ are like a box of chocolates - ya never know what you’re gonna get!” The goal of JGIG is to be a resource to help those affected by the Torah pursuant movements to try and sort out what they’re dealing with. Make use of the tabs with drop-down menus found at the top of this site – there’s tons of info there, and it’s very navigable.

Be sure to click on the many embedded links within the posts here - there's lots of additional and related information for you to access that way, as well.

Welcome, and may God grant you wisdom and discernment as you consider all of these things.

  • Broken Links – UGH

Do you find it frustrating when you’re directed to a link that does not exist? Me too! My apologies for any broken links you may find here.

JGIG occasionally links to to sites that sometimes change hosting sites or remove content, forums that periodically cull threads, sites/posters that appear to ‘scrub’ content from their sites (or YouTube posts, pdf files, etc.) when that content receives negative attention, and other sites that over time, have simply ceased to exist.

As of this writing (Sep ’23), I’ll be methodically going through JGIG and repairing as many links as I can, slowly, but surely.

Please let me know via the ‘Contact JGIG’ drop-down menu item under the ‘About’ tab at the top of this page if you come across a link that is broken so that I can try to repair or remove it. Please include the name of the post/article where you found the broken link as well as the link itself. You may be able to find content specified by doing a search and viewing a relocated or cached page/post/video using an article title or some text content.

    Thanks,

  3. Thank you so much for this site! I googled for info on Hebrew Roots movement. For about 2 years it has slowly crept into our congregation, despite warnings from myself to an elder’s wife. Now the other elder has left, denounced HR, and called the remaining elder and wife to repentance. This teaching, I believe, was introduced by a woman. I was given a Batya Wooten book and after reading a bit, put it down, convinced of error and deception. The lady who owns the book does not call her herself Christian, has “repented” of protestantism and “false teaching”. She lured the elder’s wife into attending conferences, I believe, and one other lady member. Repeatedly questioning from me brought silence. Finally, I guess they got brave and sent out emails to other lady members, which my husband and I were alerted to. Sadly, we left the congregation after my husband’s last message from Romans. (He is not an elder, but was asked to teach as the men rotate.) I cannot believe the damage this has done as well has wounded hearts and continued deception. This was a very small congregation-a few families-in a church that started out Reformed. The pastor was disciplined 2 years ago, but what was left in the wake has probably destroyed the church. Satan is a liar and the father of lies.

Thank you for this. It seems this HB is on a steep rise in the South. I try and warn others.-Betty

    • Hi Betty,

Welcome to JGIG, though I wish you didn’t have to be here.

The HRM does have a way of causing division in the Body of Christ. And you’re right – it often does gain access through women in families. I’ve seen this especially in the home schooling community. I’m so sorry that you and your local Body has gone through all of this.

I pray that you will find another local fellowship with which you can fellowship and serve.

      Blessings,
      -JGIG

  4. Hi! I have been reading your articles, and I like them. I also see that you have a link of John MacArthur. I always listend to him also.

There’s just one issue that I have a question about. The “Root” in the latest article about grafting in John MacArthur’s preachings is Abraham. Your article says that it is referring to Jesus.

  5. Thank you for all information on your site. The Hebrew Roots movement are invading Sweden. Teachers like Eddie Chumney and Bill Cloud in the “Two House Theology” come invited to meetings. Please can i use some of your material here and translate it to Swedish ?

    Gode bless you!

    • Hi JO,

      Welcome to JGIG!

I pray that you find JGIG to be a good resource. I hope to have a post or two up on the Two House Error in the next few months, as I know that it is a big part of HRM doctrine. For now, I do have links to articles about the Two House/Ephraimite/Lost Tribes doctrine on the Articles Page under the letter ‘E’.

I did do a review of a Two House video teaching on a forum that you can read HERE. The video teaching linked to in that review has been pulled (I’ve noticed that Jim Staley will remove internet content that receives negative feedback and re-post so that that content gets a new URL and negative comments no longer show up and links from reviewers no longer work) and you can view the new link HERE, for now, anyway, ha. The time stamps on my review are a few seconds off as a result, but you can still follow it along pretty well.

Blessings to you as you contend for the Gospel, JO!

      In Christ,
      -JGIG

  6. To this website and all who are involved, You are very Judging for not being “Judging”. This is a website devoted to attacking a group of people that want to Love God. How are you loving them? There is no biblical justification for what you are doing here. If we are no longer under any law and free to worship God how we please then why can’t they worship him that way without you belittling them and calling them names. If we are no longer under law but Grace then why is it wrong for those under grace to want to follow the law out of love for God. You have furnished your own laws on how you think Christians should act, Adding your own rules and putting yourself on a pedestal as though you are above God. And in doing so you are becoming what you say you are against. You seem a bit hypocrytical and hateful. I have not seen Christians even treat muslims with such arrogance and Disgrace. And there is nothing wrong if Hebrew people want to call Jesus by his actual Hebrew name. Plus it would actually be Joshua if translated directly from Greek. So where did the translation for Jesus come from when Greek is perfectly capable of even translating the name of Yeshua the same as Hebrew?

    • Chelsey, I came across this site and must say if you read the right side of the page then read what they have printed, it seems the two are at war with each other. I guess its a dedicated “Hate” so we must “Love” web site. The confusion here makes my head turn.

    • amen Chelsey. I now know for a fact after reading these posts that I am glad I left “the church” per say. I love God and receive His word as the living Messiah, Yeshua. I know that if you read the Greek version only you ARE getting a re-written word. Hebrew meaning is NOT the same as Greek or Latin or English so to find Truth you must go to the original. Keep in mind the definition of sin is breaking the law. It is even in the NT. The LAWLESS one is called the devil. I could go on and on but it is useless to try to speak truth to those who are a heretic calling others a cult. We shall all stand before Him one day and give an account, so I pray each one of us be fully convinced in our hearts – NOT to be proven “right” but to be humble and walk the path HE has chosen … not us or a church who says you must do it this way or that or off to hell you go. The churches of today are a “bless me club” only using the LAW to their advantage – but calling it grace. OBEDIENCE is the main proof we are HIS. The NT is the OT revealed in Yeshua. By the way, there was no letter “J” until about the 15th century. No one wants to investigate anything that might prove THEIR belief wrong. Everything that I read that was said about the “Hebrew Roots Movement” can be said of the modern day church as well, just twist it with a little Greek and Latin. Can you understand half the bible without knowing Hebrew original meaning? NO. Final statement, grace began in the garden of Eden NOT in the NT. When God said forever – He meant it.

      • Linda, that was quite the rant.

        A few questions for you:

        * In what language was the NT written in ?
        * Where does it say in the Scriptures that we have to go to Hebrew ‘meaning’ to ‘find Truth’?
        * Sin is breaking the Law; how many sins did Jesus die for?
        * You imply that I am a heretic. On what grounds? The Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed here. Why does that offend you?
        * How many churches have you been to? There are some really good ones out there =o).
        * Obedience IS proof that we are His. What does God require of us? (See John 6:28-29 and 1 John 3:21-24, and see what commandments are referred to here. Also consider the issue of Fruit in Galatians 5.)
        * Are you aware that for someone’s name to be transliterated into many languages is actually a sign of great honor? Do you not think that God and Jesus know Who we are talking to/about when we use those English forms?
        * After reading here at JGIG (which you claim you have done), are you really making the claim that ‘No one wants to investigate anything that might prove THEIR belief wrong.”? Really? This blog is the result of me questioning EVERYTHING – and seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ stand firm throughout!

You asked the question, “Can you understand half the bible without knowing Hebrew original meaning?” and answered, “NO.”

        * Where does God require that we come to Him with an Hebraic mindset and understanding? While I do understand that having a historical and cultural context is helpful in understanding elements of the Scriptures, most of what God has communicated to us there are issues common to all mankind, regardless of language or culture – issues of sin and death, redemption and life! One need not take on an Hebraic mindset to understand the Gospel! Nor does one need to take on an Hebraic mindset to love one another in Christ, which Romans 13 tells us fulfills the Law.

And you’re right, grace did begin in the Garden of Eden – God could have just destroyed Adam and Eve right then. But He didn’t. He promised a Redeemer. And the Law was part of how that Redeemer would be recognized, by keeping Israel separate in religious practice, government, and diet. And the Seed did come, and we are no longer under the supervision of the Law given to Moses at Sinai, but under the supervision of the Law of Christ, the Law of Love.

Are God’s Laws given through Moses forever?

Tell ya what . . . why don’t you do a bit of research on the Hebraic concept of forever . . . then get back to me =oD.

        Blessings,
        -JGIG

  7. Dear Chelsey and John,

I invite you to spend some time reading through the many posts, testimonies, and articles here at JGIG. Perhaps, over time, and with other folks that God may put in your path, you will come to see this site differently, as this person has.

    Blessings and prayers,
    -JGIG

  8. I have spent the time reading through and agree with what has already been written. You are a hate site with blinders on to your own hate speech. I have no issue with offering a viewpoint from your point but in the fashion in which you have written in must come from a place of bitterness and sorrow from not having a relationship that is built on stone anyways. After reading just about everything you have posted it is clear you are not in the least what you say. This site is a disgrace to the Father and I will continue to pray that your bitterness will be healed!

  9. Great stuff! So glad you spent the time researching and then took it to the next step so we could all benefit. We have a friend that has recently adopted this HR Movement and, on the surface it seems harmless, but it tends to grow and swallow our core beliefs regarding the Blood of Jesus and His grace. I have no problem with a people that choose to participate in the Sabbath, festivals and celebrations set up by the Torah and think there is a certian value to understanding the traditions, but some of the teachings can be very dangerous. Thanks again for your hard work and devotion to this site. The persecution will come, we will pray for wisdom and love in your responses.

  10. My wife has been heavily indoctrinated into this HRM “movement”, and it is sad that she will not recieve from me any truth regarding the fact that everything is “IN CHRIST”. I shall “be ye angry and sin not”, because their ploys are so cunningly crafted. Example; When I try to show the undeniable truth about grace, atonement, “in the newnwss of the SPIRIT and not the oldness of the LETTER” — these HRM spiritual perverts have crafted devious explanations for all these things plain truths in God’s word. One lie is that the reference of the handwriting of ordinances was “blotted out” , “taken out of the way”, and “nailed to the cross” is this heresy that the word is not refering to “the” handwriting of ordinances (i.e. law of moses/torah), but instead-a list of other rules that some jewish leaders added outside of these. Also; when I explain that acts 15:1,2,5,7-12,24,29 certainly should answer the question ; I then get the “original hebrew manuscript nonsense. This damnable movement puts a strain on our marriage and has brought about near misses with divorce twice. It’s sad to hear one of her freinds state that the word “atonement” concerning what Christ’s finished work on the cross has done for us has “some other meaning” in the “original” hebrew. I’ve added my email address to recieve updates, but perhaps she has seen our email before me and deleted them. Continue exposing this heresy.

    • Hi Glen,

I would say welcome to JGIG, but I really wish you didn’t have a reason to be here =o/.

Unfortunately, you are not alone in your situation with your marriage and the HRM. I have far to many emails similar to yours and am aware of other situations ongoing where couples who are both believers in Christ become divided because of the teachings in the Hebrew Roots Movement. I’m aware of two groups specifically where HRM leadership is being actively divisive in the situations, reasoning that since theirs is the ‘real truth’, sometimes one has to choose God over a marriage! That is in direct conflict with Scripture written to the Body of Christ which tells us:

      1 Corinthians 7:12-16
12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. 16 How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

UGH. And they claim to know the Scriptures. But of course, Moses said it was okay to divorce . . .

Glen, I’ll add you and your wife to my prayers, that the Gospel will stand in her heart and that she may begin to see the errors that she’s being taught.

      Grace and peace to you,
      -JGIG

  11. Thanks very much for the reply. I have quoted these same scriptures you mention to her, and I certainly value- and -I am gratefull for your prayers. She really get’s bent when I express the needlessness of all the jewish manorahs and tzit tzits she wears etc. . For a time – she claimed to understand what I showed her in scripture, BUT, her former freinds in HRM pulled her back by casting doubts on the bible God has preserved for us and have redefined terms. It’s easy to sell such snake oil to those who do not move forward in FAITH, and a wittness of the Spirit of God because they are bedazzled by their psuado scolarship and with other trappings such as men on youtube teaching this hookie mockey with long beards and “spiritual attire”. She attended a group before that had none of these affectations, but still taught these doctrines of devils . If you mention the Spirit – they quote the scripture “my words are Spirit and they are life” then they go on with their false impressive approach to point out that those “words” that are Spirit are their words. May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ preserve us from these wolves in sheeps clothing. Thanks again for your prayers. May the Lord bless you in the strong and powerfull name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

  12. HRM how sad that we have so much of man,s interpretation of the word, whether you call it HRM or Penticostal or Methodist, Baptist, Catholic , Jewish, it all has man’s flavour/traditions attached to it.
What about seeking truth, obeying YHWH who has become our Y’SHWA every word in scripture should be obeyed not just what we feel like because it suits the mould of the denomination we enjoy following. Seek His Face it costs your everything.

    • How’s your ark coming along? Do you have some pics you can link us to?

I’m not trying to be snarky, but you’re saying that ‘EVERY word in Scripture should be obeyed not just what we feel like’. Slayed any Philistines lately? Offering sacrifices as Abraham did? He didn’t have a Temple either, did he? Own any slaves?

The point I’m trying to make is that we cannot, nor should we, obey EVERY command found in the Scriptures. How do we know what to obey and what is now obsolete because God has already accomplished what He wishes with certain commands? By taking the whole counsel of Scripture into account and looking at everything through the lens of the completed work of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we do that faithfully, the works that God desires us to do become very clear:

      John 6:28-29
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

      1 John 3:21-24
21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

      Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

      Blessings,
      -JGIG

  13. hi , wonderfull to find a website that understands this movement
i have been trying to understand my sister , she has put the whole family through a hard time ,if i log on ok i would like to say some more l
    love in Jesus , liz

    • Welcome, elizabth =o). I hope you find JGIG to be a helpful resource for you to sort out what you’re dealing with.

      Blessings and prayers in Christ,

  14. JGIG this page is a hate page ..there is no doubt ,, i find it ironic that the very father we serve told us to call him Yahshua ,, go back to his hebew roots.. people dont let this man decieve you.. it is the very fact that this man,, “a man of jesus christ ” has the anti-christ spirit.. lawless…unless you battle with these demon spirits, in warfare they have got you in a delusional lie..you CANNOT even see or recognize,, for even the lect will be decieved ,, how many people serving jesus christ is really decieved almost all,, in fact one precious tibit jgig forgets to mention is the FATHER does the calling.. MANY ARE NOT CALLED…. i applaud those sticking up for Yahwehs torah and truth… we see it again in rev 12:17…

    • doug, what you say here is beyond ridiculous. Do you deny the mighty works of God in the name of Jesus Christ? The billions over the ages saved by God Incarnate, God the Son, in the name of Jesus Christ? Have you ever even read accounts of missionaries who go out into all the world and preach the Gospel to all tribes and nations to see how God works?

You make accusations based on ignorance of this site. You have NOT read this site in any depth, as is evidenced by your comments.

As for your narrow, bigoted, elitist view of salvation, read the letter to the Romans. Heck, give the whole New Testament a spin! I have a feeling you’ve been neglecting it!

      Romans 5:1-11
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

You’re accusing one who is redeemed, washed in the Blood of the Lamb, whose sins have been cast as far as the east is from the west. I think in one of your other comments you do mention something about idle words . . . tread carefully, friend.

      Revelation 12:10-12
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
      has been hurled down.
      11 They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
      and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
      as to shrink from death.
      12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
      He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”

The fruit you bear is NOT the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. A little self-examination may be in order.

  15. Thank God I have found your website. I am really looking forward to exploring your website since I have been debating some of these Torah believers via the internet. God Bless!

[Note to readers: Different ‘Doug’ than the ‘doug’ who has also commented on this page today. What are the odds, ha. -JGIG]

  16. i know only you will read this you are dishonest for not posting my posts .. you dont give Yahwehs people a voice you are a lier.. and Yahweh has showed me throough his ruach that you will be judged for every idle word…

    • Really? Did Yahweh also show you that I’ve had 6 ten-year-old girls here for a sleep-over PLUS my own seven children and have been tending to them AND shuttling back and forth to Vacation Bible School all week? I haven’t even READ your comments until now. And in reality it had only been just over 13 HOURS since you posted them until your nasty comment above. Sorry if YOU have been inconvenienced by my busy schedule. And I may or may not post your other comments because, as so many Torah folk are prone to do, they don’t read the comments policy here at JGIG and think that they can just come here and pontificate about how evil JGIG is and how holy they are =o/. If you want to do that, start your own blog. Others have.

doug wrote, “i know only you will read this you are dishonest for not posting my posts .. you dont give Yahwehs people a voice you are a lier.. and Yahweh has showed me throough his ruach that you will be judged for every idle word…”

First of all, LOTS of Torah folks’ comments get through here – I probably let more through than I should – so drop the victim card. As for what God will judge me for, I’m content to leave that to Him.

As for your other posts, I’ll prayerfully re-read them later. They don’t meet the criteria set forth in the comments policy, so I would have NO PROBLEM deleting them. That said, I think your comments go a long way to show how badly some Torah folk have twisted the Gospel, and may approve them for demonstrative purposes only. In one comment you even say that you had to go through ‘extreme deliverance’ because you had crosses in your house! Interestingly enough, the Bible does speak of the Cross:

      1 Corinthians 1:17-25
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

      “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

      Philippians 3:18-21
18 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

      Galatians 6:12-16
12 Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 Not even those who are circumcised obey the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your flesh. 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation. 16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God.

I have no doubt that there is a great spiritual battle going on around you; you, however, have mis-read its nature, I’m afraid.

Now, doug, just so you know, I have to take one of my children to the doctor this afternoon and will be away from my computer for several hours. After that I’ll be tending to my family for several more hours. I do hope you will understand and will attempt to restrain the self-righteous, judgemental, impatient, graceless spirit under which you’ve placed yourself until I can get back to your previous comments.

      Thanks,

  17. Sir ..I feel soo sorry for you Yahshua just showed me something about you,, you have a strong , spirit of pride, and religion.. you are judging every single person in the hebrew roots.. when in fact they have each come to you in truth and YOU have denied not them but Yahweh and Yahshua…to continue in your error you will perish… your definition of love,, is your own not scriptures,, as in the 10 comandments the first 4 show how to love Yahweh like HE WANTS TO BE LOVED… do you celebrate christmas ,,Easter?? if you do you are serving other gods.. do you hold the sabbath as he commands…JGIG you are sadly mistaken ,, your love is what you think not the way the scriptures talk… also a huge flaw is you thinking Yahshua is the Father… you can only know these truths by the true ruach ha Koseh…you have a spirit of error,, freind… As others i can only tell you the truth,, you mock my spiritual warfare,, you think im telling you a story about the cross…you havent done your research… Christinity is the mix of the truth , and the worship of the pagans,, Yahweh has called me out of the churches sir,, nor do i have a big website to boast about and put every HRM person down when in affect they are trying and care enough to show you truth,, yet you think your academics and knowledge will save you… if sin is transgression of the law…is it that you do not sin.. if you believe you are not held to the LAW.. law means instructions… humble yourself freind.. also im just a servant of Yahweh,, nad i will tell you as he said Touch not one of his anointed ones… no man has said this to me , Yahweh spoke through a prophecy,, and gave me issaih 45 …Yahshua is telling me this.. you have alot, to learn as we all do ,, but you have to much pride to admitt it… You must have a covenant with him,, and HOLD fast to his Marriage vows,, till then you are living an illusion of self…

    • doug, I can prove that the spirit you’re listening to is not holy: You keep referring to me as ‘sir’. If you were indeed hearing from the Spirit of God/Yeshua/Jesus, I’m pretty sure He would get my gender right.

So everything you have said here has been via a false spirit, which makes you a false prophet. You’re done here; don’t bother posting again.

    • If you deny that God has come in the flesh, then the spirit you are of is Anti-Christ. Period, end of story, and sadly, yourself, unless you repent. I can only pray that the day will come when you turn to Yeshua and ask that He, the very Word and very Spirit of YHWH made flesh, will forgive you. And you know what? He will. Because, Doug, He knows who you are, and despite that, He loves you very much anyways.

  18. Lord Jesus Help us all. Bless you JGIG for sharing truth. (and for continued blogging during a 17-kid sleepover!!)
Don’t stoop to the level of some of these disgruntled “sheep”. I read the testimony of “sheep wrecked” and while she was clearly [over]zealous in her pursuit of “jewishness”, I could relate to the mental confusion and heaviness she mentioned.
I have only heard about HRM about 3 months ago, but it is so serpently-seductive and reasonable sounding that I found myself questioning a 90-year heritage of faith in Jesus Christ my savior.
I would lie in bed and feel unable to pray for fear I was asking “amiss”, and I just had to keep telling myself that Jesus said his yoke was easy and his burden light.
After reading numerous articles on your site and a couple others that are saying the same things – issuing caution – I feel as if a load has been lifted off my neck.

    Blessings to you.

    • Thank you so much for commenting here – thank you for the encouragement and edification – I feel so blessed =o)!

What you describe, just holding fast to a foundational truth in Christ, is what kept me on an even keel when being presented with HRM teachings. For me, it was keeping a clear view of the Cross: What Jesus did there; what was accomplished there; the Resurrection, the Ascension, and the sending of His Holy Spirit. Those things were the great dividing line in HIStory and MEAN something that those in Law keeping sects either choose to ignore or just cannot see.

Blessings to you as you walk in the Freedom for which Christ has set us FREE!

  19. HRM=”cunningly devised fables” ( i.e.- impressive sounding false scholarship built on a foundation of clever lies ) I find it ironic that they claim to be the only one who really study – yet if you try to get them to study the true evidence (since they allready scorn the wittness of the Spirit) that clearly illustrates upon carefull true examination – how their teachings are rooted in occult – they will not even “study” the TRUE RECORD. However; they do have a wittness of “a” spirit – just not a wittness of “THE” Spirit of God. “and God shall send THEM (HRM etc.) a stron delusion that they should believe a lie that they all might be damned…….who recieved not the love of the truth” .

  20. I like your box of chocolates statement and agree. Unfortunately with 33,000+ Christian denominations / churches we are probably more representative of a warehouse of boxes of chocolates.

Can we stay truer to ‘A simple heart living a simple faith’? The Torah or Gospel? Is this a real question? The Torah and Gospel are not seperate entities, they are one, two sides of one coin. Look, just set it upright and spin it. You’ll see just one truth, as neither exists to be seen without the other side equally spun.

Mat 5:17 This would include God’s set appointments. Jesus did or directly allowed the Spring appointments to be met. He will but has yet to fullfill God’s Fall appointments. Mat 5:18 Everything has not been accomplished.

In my opinion, to really understand what we in the church think we understand. We need to see ‘it’ through remnant Hebrew/Jewish eyes. When we gentiles in the church do, I think we’ll have what is required to help God’s people, the Jews, see the little stone they tripped over and are soon not to be missing. When they do “Thy Kingdom come!” their Jewish Messiah, our Lord and Savior, will soon set up God’s government on earth, his throne in Israel… and wow how awesome is life going to be and be for those saved through grace and his shed blood. Thank you Yahshua!!

    Cheers!

    • Hi Casey, welcome to JGIG =o).

A couple of questions for you:

Where do you see in Scripture where the Old Covenant and the New Covenant can be in operation at the same time? That spinning coin of yours is not found anywhere in Scripture. You wrote, “The Torah or Gospel? Is this a real question? The Torah and Gospel are not seperate entities, they are one, two sides of one coin.”

Torah Law (more accurately the Old Covenant) is shockingly described in 2 Corinthians 3 as the Ministry of Death. Is that an accurate description of the New Covenant? It would have to be to ‘be one’, would it not? They are completely separate entities – one a Ministry of Death, the other the Ministry of Life.

Are we all required now or will we ever be required to view ‘it’ through ‘remnant, Hebrew/Jewish eyes’? Again – that spin is not found anywhere in the Scriptures, either. What do we see? God creating languages and the first miracle after the Cross? The preaching of the Gospel in many different tongues at Pentecost. So no, you’re off base here, as well.

What will that kingdom look like in your opinion? Will Old Covenant Law be a part of that kingdom? Why or why not? Please use Scripture to back up your assertions.

  21. I’ve been dating a girl for 8 months now who was deep into this movement. I watched it rob her of real joy in the person of Jesus, of a confidence in the integrity of Scripture, and I watched it solidify the image she had of a God who was perpetually disappointed in her inability to follow His “instructions”. It was heart breaking. After months of conversation, prayer, and divine involvement, I had the privilege of watching God do what I had deemed impossible: I watched Him woo her to Himself and show her real, boundless grace. This site and it’s testimonies were instrumental and I can’t thank you enough for being part of the way the Lord answered my prayers for her. You have no idea the breadth of what you’re doing here. Thank you so much.

    • So glad to hear, Jordan =o)! And thanks for your kind words about JGIG – that’s the intent – for JGIG to be a resource for folks to sort out what they’re seeing/hearing in regard to the HRM and other Law-keeping sects.

It’s really cool to see when Grace takes hold, eh?!

Grace and peace to you and your girlfriend,
      -JGIG

  22. God is love..and WWC is infact a cult..very similar to Jehovah Witness.Twisting scripture around to make God an old Testament god..God so loved He gave!!! Love in action..His only Son to restore what sin separated.Once and for all…these testimonials are what the world needs today! There is NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST! And NOTHING can separate you from His LOVE!!!

  23. Thank you for JGIG. It’s a wealth of information and very useful.
I just lost a dear friends to the HRM, and many things you described about HRM is exactly what I experienced when dealing with this friend.
I appreciate all of your efforts.
    Thank you
